Walking in Jesus’ … Sandals
It’s not exactly the easiest thing to model your life off of Jesus. A perfect man in a world where all men except for him were not perfect. As Christians, we model our behavior, our responses to situations, our love, our life after Jesus. We aspire to be like him. Although it isn’t easy. What are the qualities that Jesus had that we should aspire to be as well? Here’s a couple of them and verses to mediate on to walk and talk like Jesus:
A new command I give you Love one another. As I have loved you, so you
must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my
disciples, if you love one another.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood;
After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him. “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
“But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.” Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. “He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
